Principal's Message

A Warm Welcome to the School Year!

Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,

My name is Kelly Leonard, and I am honored to serve as the Principal of Robert Frost Elementary School. I have been an educator for more than 20 years, serving students and families in a variety of roles, including teacher and school administrator. I am proud to lead Frost, a diverse, dual-language school community where we believe all students are capable of success—no exceptions.

Committed to Every Student’s Success
At Frost, our mission is to ensure every student experiences high-quality, rigorous instruction in a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment.

We believe every child deserves access to grade-level learning, meaningful opportunities to think, read, write, discuss, and problem-solve, and the support needed to reach high levels of academic achievement.

Just as importantly, we work to develop confident, curious learners who believe in themselves and understand that effort, perseverance, and a learner’s mindset can help them grow.

Learning and Growing Together
Our Frost staff is a dedicated community of educators committed to continuously improving our practice so we can better serve every student.

Teachers collaborate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to analyze student learning, plan effective instruction, and respond when students need additional support or greater challenge.

Through our Dual Language Program, AVID strategies, strong Tier 1 instruction, and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), we strive to create classrooms where students are actively engaged in rigorous learning and receive what they need to be successful.

Partnering with Families
We know student success is a partnership between school, students, families, and our community. Families are an essential part of the Frost team, and we value your voice, involvement, and partnership.

Together, we can help our students develop the knowledge, skills, confidence, and character they need to succeed in school and in their futures.

I am incredibly proud to serve the students, families, and staff of Robert Frost Elementary. As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, we are ready to LEVEL UP—raising expectations, strengthening instruction, deepening student engagement, and working together toward high achievement for every Cougar.
